内容简介:Hyperdrives is an innovative electric drives start-up from Munich. Michael Fick is the founder and innovator behind the project which has been in the stealth mode up to day, planning to roll-out its promising technology soon. From the early days of the design and concept phase, we have been grateful to be a member of the Ansys start-up program. This included great deals on the Ansys simulation toolchain as well as excellent personal support from its partner Inneo Solutions. Ansys EM and Workbench have been an important key to success throughout the ambitious project. The unique motor concept has now been transferred from simulation to two evaluation prototypes. The promising simulation results have matched extraordinary well with its real life counterparts. Potential applications of these motors are in the more powerful range of e-mobility. Be it in passenger and commercial ground vehicles area or in air or on water: future electric or hybrid electric powered aircraft and VTOLs, boats and trains, from the hundred kW to MW range. Our USP is excellent power density and high efficiency at very competitive cost using standard materials. Compared to a state of the art PMSM, the peak power density can be doubled, the constant power density even tripled.Michael will present the general design process in Ansys EM and the multiphysics link to Workbench. He will present design tips, show basic modelling techniques using imported geometries as well as Ansys’ individual freedom of modelling for any design desired. The design process described starts with general modelling to achieve defined performance requirements, performing parameter optimization, alongside detailed calculation the specific loss types attributed to each motor component. Depending on the individual project, there is a great variety of how much you go into detailing which is not always necessary but ever possible: magnet loss calculation and demagnetization effects, external excitation, mesh refinement etc.
