Position Title:                Generator & Electrical Application Engineer
Location:                GE CTC Shanghai, China

Essential Function (Responsibilities):
•        Responsible for the technical content of proposals for GE Generator & Electrical Accessories for Gas Turbine and Steam Turbine applications, working with the Commercial Operations and Design Engineering teams to win new orders
•        Act as the engineering interface to Sales and Commercial Operations teams for technical support involving all resources relative to design, production, availability, and performance of GE Generators and electrical auxiliaries during the proposal phase of a project
•        After period of training, have applications responsibility for generator and electrical auxiliaries equipment projects in the China / Asia market and have potential to cover projects outside the region
•        Gathering information from Design Engineering and providing information to the Proposal Generation Team in the form of fill-in data, specification review and equipment scope and features
•        Verifying proposal drawings and documentation
•        Translation of customer documents to define project scope requirements and clarification of customer questions
•        Attend internal project meetings to establish strategies for winning and customer meetings to clarify technical aspects during negotiations with the customer
•        Use GE Power Generation Engineering tools to support preparation of customer responses
•        Attend customer meetings to represent the technical aspects of project scope to a potential customer during the competitive bidding process
•        Interpret customer requirements to determine proper application of General Electric equipment to ensure GE’s competitive position and ultimate customer satisfaction
•        Support GE productivity and quality initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements:
•        Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
•        Minimum 5 years experience in power generation industry
•        Solid knowledge of generator and electrical systems
•        Superior English language skills (written and spoken)
•        Well-established organizational, communication and presentation skills
•        Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with minimal direction
•        Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
•        Willing to travel for training and customer meetings
•        Able to support non-standard work hours for communication with US based personnel when required

Desired:
•        Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese
•        Database skills (Microsoft Access, Oracle)
•        Programming skills (e.g. HTML, Microsoft VBA, Java)
•        Fluency in other Asian languages
